There was a bit of apprehension amongst global Banila Co fans when it was announced that the classic Banila Co cleansers were undergoing a bit of a revamp. Luckily we can now safely say that Banila Co have managed to outdo themselves with the next generation of balm cleansers!
Across the board the textures are softer and smoother, the new packaging makes them more shelfie friendly, the cleansers have a higher melting point – (just in case) and the formulas have had varying degrees of change – but overall are even more skin friendly.
The Banila Co Clean it Zero Classic is the OG of Banila’s range – and has had the biggest update.
So what’s new?
Aside from the above.
The most important things to note are:
It is now called the Banila Co Clean It Zero Original.
It now no longer contains mineral oil using ester oil instead – which a lot of people who aren't sure about mineral oil will like + ester oil also has emollient properties.
Butyl Parahydroxybenzoate has been replaced by phenoxyethanol – that is naturally derived from green tea and acts as a natural preservative. Green tea never stops giving.
Butylated hydroxytoluene has been replaced by Vitamin E acetate – (which adds a bit of hydration, and can also help with inflammation and the skin barrier) making it even more friendly across different skin types.
The slight pink to the balm before was from artificial colouring and now it’s from natural!
You can check out the full formula on the product page.
It does also now come in two sizes – the usual 100ml version and now the bigger 180 ml. We won’t be getting the 180 in for a while, until the new formulation established itself a bit longer – but we are definitely thinking about it for the future.
